Time and Talent Commitment Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, October 5, 2014.

       

    If you would like to be involved with one of the Ministry Teams or the 125 Build for the Future/Mission Task Force, please select from the options below. 

    Ministry Teams:   Want to get involved with a ministry team, but you're not sure what you would like to do?  Come to the next ministry team meeting and get more information.

    125 Build for the Future/Mission Task Force:   Work with leadership on the planning and implementation of HTLC future mission and building plans.

    I am interested in helping with these activities:
    Ministry of Support
    COUNCIL MEMBER:
    Attend monthly meetings, collaborate with ministry teams, keep in frequent electronic communication and other leadership responsibilities.
    BUDGET PLANNING & STEWARDSHIP CELEBRATION:
    Work with leadership to plan annual stewardship celebration and formulate the annual budget.  Approximately 4 meetings between the months of June and November.
    OFFICE ASSISTANT:
    Volunteers can help with weekly bulletins and/or mailings.  Generally afternoon weekday commitments.  May be asked for office assistance when the office manager is on vacation.
    Ministry of Building and Grounds

    SEMI-ANNUAL CLEAN UP:
    Assist with indoor/outdoor projects and Fall/Spring clean up. 

    MAINTENANCE VOLUNTEER:
    "Fix It" projects around the building (painting, general repairs, etc), as needed.
    HOME MAINTENANCE @ PROJECT STEPPING STONE HOMES:
    Assist Project Stepping Stone with various maintenance projects on their three homes, as needed.
    Ministry of Media
    ANNOUNCEMENT SCREENS:
    Create electronic announcements for screens.  Monthly Sundays.  Training provided. 
    SOUND SYSTEM ASSISTANT:
    Make recordings of worship services, run videos during services.  Monthly Sundays. Training provided.
    PHOTOGRAPHY:
    Take pictures during HTLC events. Varies (approximately 6-12 events per year, volunteer could choose single event)
    POWER POINT ASSISTANT:
    Run Power Point presentations during forum and other presentations.  Varies (approximately 6-12 events per year, volunteer could choose single event).
    Ministry of Hospitality
    FUNERAL DINNERS:
    Help serve, prepare food, clean up before and after funeral dinners.  Varies - volunteers can prepare food before funeral and/or serve as they feel called.
    COOKIES & REFRESHMENTS:
    Provide cookies for fellowship hour.  Varies - approximately 4 times yearly.
    FOOD SERVER:
    Help serve food at pitch-ins, cake after celebrations (confirmation, etc).  Varies (2-6 times yearly).
    VBS FOOD PROVIDER/SERVER:
    Help serve or provide food for VBS week (1-4 nights during one week in June/July).
    SPORT TEAMS/EVENTS:
    Participate in basketball/softball/bowling teams.  Seasonal (1-2 times weekly in the season).
    MEN'S BREAKFAST/LUNCH AT IHOP:
    Meet at IHOP on McGalliard on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 11:30am for Breakfast/Lunch Fellowship.
    Ministry of Outreach
    FOOD BASKET PARTICIPANT:
    Various food basket set up/distribution projects.  Twice yearly (1 Saturday in November and 1 Saturday in December - Outreach will contact with details).
    SINGLE PROJECT ASSISTANCE:
    Assist in organization of single, annual outreach events (coat drive, canned food drive, back to school, etc).  Single event - Approximately 12-15 events per year.
    FOOD PANTRY DELIVERY:
    Monthly delivery of donations to various organizations (coats to Christian Ministries, Food to Mission, etc)  1-2 times yearly.
    OPEN HANDS FEEDING MINISTRY:
    Monthly packing and distributing of food. 1 Saturday per month - Approximately 2 hours. Volunteers could choose 1 event.
    PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY:
    Crochet or knit prayer shawls and/or prayer squares for baptisms, hospitalized, etc.  Monthly meetings.
    Ministry of Nurture
    SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER:
    Curriculum provided - Preschool through High School ages.  September - May, 1 hour Sunday mornings.  Team teaching available to reduce commitment.
    CHILDREN'S CHURCH ASSISTANT:
    Curriculum provided - lead 4-8 year olds in 30 minute, kid-friendly worship in Chapel.  Varies (September - May).  Preference to have volunteers lead once every 4-6 weeks.
    KIDS WORD ASSISTANT:
    Lead 3-5 minute kid friendly lesson in worship.  Varies (September - May).  Preference to have volunteers lead once every 4-6 weeks.
    CONFIRMATION ASSISTANT:
    Help Pastor mentor/lead 7-9 grade students in education and outreach activities.  (September - March, 1.5 hours on Sunday evenings).  Volunteer 1-4 Sundays per month.
    YOUTH GROUP EVENT ASSISTANT:
    Help coordinate youth events.  Varies (10-15 events per year) - volunteer could participate in single event.
    FAMILY EVENT ASSISTANT:
    Help coordinate family and congregation wide social events.  Varies (10-15 events per year) - volunteer could participate in single event.
    ADULT FORUM PRESENTER:
    Share Bible study, special ministry project, or ministry story with congregation.  1 hour Sunday mornings - volunteer could lead single event or multi-week series.
    VBS TEACHER:
    Teach VBS students.  Preschool - Middle School ages.  4 nights during 1 week in June or July.
    VBS ASSISTANT:
    Assist with crafts, worship, food prep and other VBS planning.  Varies.  4 nights during 1 week in June or July.  Nuture will contact with details.
    BINDING TIES SMALL GROUP:
    Group meets weekly at HTLC for prayer, Bible study, service projects and fellowship
    LIFE SAVER'S SMALL GROUP:
    Group meets weekly at HTLC for prayer, Bible study, service projects and fellowship

    LAY WORSHIP ASSISTANT:
    Assist Pastor with liturgy.  Training provided.  Sunday worship - 1 hour - preference to have volunteers lead once every 6-8 weeks.
    LECTOR:
    Read scripture during worship.  Sunday worship - 1 hour - preference to have volunteers lead once every 6-8 weeks.
    COMMUNION ASSISTANT:
    Assist Pastor with Holy Communion.  Sunday Worship - 1 hour - preference to have volunteers lead once every 6-8 weeks.
    ACOLYTE:
    Adults and children light candles, assist with offering and communion.  Sunday worship - 1 hour - preference to have volunteers lead once every 6-8 weeks.
    CHOIR:
    Share musical gifts in choir.  Alternate between 8 & 10:30 worship (September - May).
    ALTAR GUILD:
    Assist with worship and communion set up and clean up - will train - men and women invited!  Varies.  Preference at least 1 month per year.  Set up approximately 1 hour between Thursday - Saturday.
    USHER:
    Greet, hand out bulletins, assist with church lock up after worship - men, women and families invited!  Approximately once monthly placed on team with 2-4 other people.
    SPECIAL MUSIC:
    Share musical gifts in worship.  Varies.  Volunteer could share single event.
    GREETERS:
    Greet and welcome worshipers.  Approximately once per quarter.
    HOMEBOUND COMMUNION:
    Visit with and share communion with one of our homebound members.  Training provided.  Approximately once a month.
